Bird news from Hungary, early November (1 Viewer)

The weather was unusually mild during the first 10 days of November. Still more and more birds arrive to Hungary from the north. The numbers of Red-breasted and Lesser White-fronted Geese have increased and the first Brent Geese arrived too. There are 3 wintering Greater Spotted Eagles in Hungary, 2 returning adults and an immature.

Wallcreepers are well present at wintering sites, there were at least 8 different individuals observed. Alpine Accentors are also present in small flocks.

The unusual invasion of Common Crossbills and Spotted Nutcrackers continued, there are observations from the entire country.

Some late migrating birds were also reported, such as a Black Stork, 2 Glossy Ibises, a Black-winged Stilt, a Barn Swallow and a Sedge Warbler.
