Yesterday was the first successful Bald Eagle day for me since December of 2009. Although the eagle images are few, and lack detail, they were aided by some pleasant natural lighting. Several birds were captured in and around the grounds of Gillette's Castle, as well as a distinctly prismatic sundog off in the southern sky. The juvenile Bald Eagle was a pleasant surprise, flying by not minutes after I arrived at the edge of the cliff. Later that morning I walked Henry through the hills to the north of the Castle grounds, and spotted an adult Baldie above us in the trees. Unfortunately a low flying helicopter spooked the bird off into a nearby cove, eliminating my chances of any photos. At least now, after a failed eagle hunt the other day, I can verify the eagles are in. I hope to go back soon.
