The beginning of the year... (1 Viewer)

Since I just started watching birds seriously last February, this is the first year I've actually written down everything I see from the start! I'm rather excited about this, and it will be fun next year to be able to compare notes and stuff. I've also finally gotten over my fear of posting my finds in the Swedish species database, Svalan. (http://www.artportalen.se/birds/todays.asp) At first I was a bit wary, thinking that everyone would look at my reports and maybe think that I was mistaken if I reported something not-so-common, but now I'm starting to have faith in my abilites. |=)|

It is also an excellent place to keep track of what I see, or to check what other people see and maybe go there myself. I'm not the kind of person who would travel halfway across the country to see some rare bird, but if something is spotted close to where I live... well, then I often go there. Hmm, right now there's apparently a Glaucous Gull on the other side of town... but it's cold outside. Don't feel like biking. Maybe if it's still there tomorrow... it would be a lifer for me.

I kinda wish I'd discovered this blog earlier, it would have been fun to do a post here every time I've been out, since I've had some nice finds this year! Oh well. Can't get everything I guess.

I tend to get rather verbose at times, someday I will learn how to say things in a short and concise manner. Heh, but not today. |;|
