Warrnambool In Early Spring

Posted Tuesday 9th March 2010 at 21:48 by Francis Duggan
The children on the see saws laugh as they swing up and down
In the park by the ocean at Warrnambool Town
On saturday morning in the Spring sunlight
And everywhere looking so breezy and bright
The flute of the magpie melodious and clear
And the song of the blackbird so pleasant to hear
And the breeze from the sea so refreshing and cool
The Spring days are happy days in Warrnambool
The swamphens and moorhens the black duck and drake

Spring's First Day

Posted Tuesday 9th March 2010 at 21:43 by Francis Duggan
The sun shines in the sky of blue and gray
It is a cool and rather breezy day
The magpie lark in the Townpark does sing
Pee wee pee wee on the first day of Spring.

The Goddess of Spring she flew in overnight
And no one see her in her silent flight

Tomorrow Will Dawn

Posted Tuesday 9th March 2010 at 21:40 by Francis Duggan

The Spring will arrive in the southern breeze
That rustles and soughs in...

Posted Tuesday 9th March 2010 at 21:36 by Francis Duggan
Such beautiful poems to Nature they did write
The poetry we love for to read and recite
May they rest in peace now where-ever they lay
The deceased poets of Nature their poems live today

They glorified Nature and her praises they sung
And though they may be long dead their poems remain young
the poets of the land and the poets of the sea
In their beautiful poetry their greatness we do see

Their poems and their songs I loved...

We Do Not Own Nature

Posted Monday 8th March 2010 at 22:13 by Francis Duggan
Of Nature's ways we will never be aware
If the World with her creatures we do not wish to share
We dispossess the birds and animals when we cut their trees down
To make more room for development on the outskirts of town
Despite the discovery of cloning and the advanced science of today
Extinction is forever and will remain that way
Human tampering with Nature is not a good thing
And the praises of such I for one cannot sing
Genetic modification...
