Long billed blue tit!!! (1 Viewer)

Wow oh wow!
I am writing this as I sit in the garden shed, photographing the birds.
I have just seen - and photographed, the most amazing bird I have ever seen! Nothing less than a long-billed blue tit! Yes, really. It obviously has a deformed beak, but it has also obviously learned to live with it and feed successfully, as it could not have happened suddenly, but must have grown over a considerable time. The upper bill is the longest, being over a centimetre in length, with the lower bill being somewhat shorter. I have several shots of it feeding on the fat balls and it also fed on bits on the floor. It really is weird and also wonderful. I think I might pack up early so I can upload the photos to my computer (I'm on the iPad at the moment) and place the photos on the gallery. It really is unbelievable! Watch this space!
