A Very Warm Day In Early February (1 Viewer)

White butterflies with dark brown spots on their wings their type around these parts not rare
So very beautiful for to look at dancing in the warm Summer air
The goldfinches sing in the sunlight and on the red flowering gum tree
The rainbow lories gathering nectar are a thing of great beauty to see.

A warm day in early February the paddocks look bare, brown and dry
For months the creek has not been flowing and not a rain cloud in the sky
Climate change brought on by global warming has left the landscape looking bare
The longest dry spell of weather on record and the dams drying out everywhere.

A very warm day in early February and there is scarce a puff of breeze
The weather even warm for Summer a high of 35 degrees
The creeks dry the farm dams near empty and not one drop of water in any drain
Feeding hay to their sheep and cattle the farmers are crying out for rain.

White butterflies dancing in the sunshine even for Summer a very warm day
And no talk of a change in the weather forecast drought breaking rains seem far away,
The new holland honeyeaters on the banksia in their colours of dark, gray and gold
Seem restless as they search for nectar and so lovely for to behold.
