In My Flights Of Fancy I Always Enjoy (1 Viewer)

In my flights of fancy I always enjoy
A walk in the rushy fields of Lisnaboy
In Spring when nesting birds sing and the shy cock pheasant crow
And white blackberry blossoms bloom on the hedgrerow.

The skylark is carolling as upwards he fly
A vanishing speck in the gray morning sky
Till out of my vision he does disappear
Somewhere in the cloud World his music I hear.

Some birds sight unseen one can never get wrong
Easy to recognize by their chirp or their song
As a boy I loved Nature I still do today
I first got to know her in fields far away.

Two decades of years before my life's prime
Before I commenced for to dabble in rhyme
On going back in time more than five decades ago
Yet of Nature's ways little I do seem to know.

In my flights of fancy I hear and I see
The red breasted robin sing on a birch tree
And the dark brown dipper with breast white as snow
Sings on a rock in the stream that to the river does flow.

Our great dreams of life we may never realize
But 'tis easy so easy for to visualize
In my flights of fancy I am back home again
And I hear the birds sing in the wind and the rain.
