The Fate Of The Leaves (1 Viewer)

Our biological clock it keeps on ticking fast
And few things in life for long periods do last
At birth the dice of our destiny is cast
Though as we age we do hang on to the past.

Whoever said it first was not broadcasting a lie
That the longer we live the sooner we will die
Though many in an after life do believe
The karma we deserve is what we receive.

The leaves of late Autumn turn brown and then fall
To the bosom of Nature who receives them all
Are we any different for us too an end
To any life form the Reaper not a friend.

We share one thing in common a similar fate
And like the food that we eat on us a use by date
And since we too are mere mortals and born to die
The fate of the leaves is for you and for I.
