L'Encanyissada lagoon is the largest in Delta. It is full of flamingos.
In the Delta del Ebro flamingo population is around 10,000 birds. And most are in a radio of ten kilometers from this lagoon.
And so I went from Casa de Fusta by the bike path seeing flamingos, black necked grebes, mallards, great white egret, grey herons, and some cormorants
When I arrived at the west end of the lagoon, past the drain of El Tau, a female marsh harrier shadow silhouetted against the sky.
And a purple swamphen crossed the bike path ahead of me, I turned back and started to look
Not only saw one, I saw half a dozen of swamphens.
I could see a grey heron close from the observation tower of Tores de la Mata. It was quite close from the people in the sighting tower, it seemed accustomed to movement of people. There were some mallards and two herons more.
I also saw more flamingos, behind them a group of what I assume are coots and suddenly the blue lighting of a kingfisher stood atop a post
And I was finally coming to Poble Nou del Delta, when I photographed a male marsh harrier
Then I went to the Pont del Través. It separates lagoon of L´Encanyssada from lagoon de L´Clot where I saw thousands of flamingos, which I will show next week
