Saturday was volunteer weeding day at Kohala. We chopped up passiflora vines, tibouchina and ginger at the fenced Kilohana Stream unit. Interesting plants included several pilo kea, an unidentified stenogyne, a lone pritchardia lanigera, various clermontia trees, a kamakahala with huge leaves, and a huge opuhe/olona tree. I still haven't decided which are opuhe and which are olona.

Afterwards I went to Kaohe GMA to get photos of a clump of 'akoko trees, which is something I don't see elsewhere. I also looked for other interesting trees and checked out various wildflowers, looking for natives.
