Due to Climate Change

Posted Thursday 21st January 2010 at 20:44 by Francis Duggan
Due to their lust for power the warnings of climate change some Governments ignore
Like 'tis said about much it keeps on wanting more
With our disrespect for our Natural Environment we will seal our own fate
Talks of cutbacks on carbon emissions thirty years too late
For far too many fuel guzzling engines the price will be huge to pay
And far too much burning of fossil fuels in the World of today
By far too much polluting of land, water and air
What...

I Love The Town Of Warrnambool

Posted Thursday 21st January 2010 at 20:39 by Francis Duggan
I love the Town of Warrnambool a happy and busy place
In the Victorian coastal City all cultures they embrace
And every race of person in Warrnambool a welcome does find
In the bright and breezy City there's respect for every kind.

I love the Town of Warrnambool I feel so happy there

Warrnambool by the Pacific...

Memories Of Lost Youth

Posted Thursday 21st January 2010 at 20:35 by Francis Duggan
When I was a young boy many decades ago

When I was a young boy with joy I recall
The great...

The Thistles On Mt Rouse

Posted Thursday 21st January 2010 at 20:29 by Francis Duggan
On volcanic Mt Rouse where the thistles grow tall
They spread their seeds around in the warm winds of the Fall
And with each passing year their numbers multiply
For to control their spread people no longer do try
The thistles on Mt Rouse are out of control
Noxious weeds on the dry landscape have been taking toll
Less food for the marsupials and lagomorphs to eat
Where herbs and grasses with thistles are forced to compete
On many of the walking...

A Memory

Posted Wednesday 20th January 2010 at 20:51 by Francis Duggan
O'er the mudflats of McCLouglins beach in South Gippsland it is pleasant to hear
The flute of the curlew at this time of year
Though five hours by car distant to my heart 'tis near
That beautiful music melodious and clear
To a place in the heart such a memory belong
Of the long billed shore bird with the beautiful song
From Northern Asia in the Southern Spring they journey down
To spend time on the mudflats 12 K's from Yarram Town
To the background...
