At This Time Of Year

Posted Wednesday 6th January 2010 at 03:21 by Francis Duggan
At this time of year in South Eastern Australia the white backed magpies sing night and day
You hear them piping in the moonlight when brush tail possums in their cloaks of gray
Are fighting for to defend their borders on galvanize roofs and on trees
The noise of their snarlings is carrying through the quiet streets in the freshening breeze
In early Spring in South Eastern Australia the shrike thrush in light brown and gray
On bushes and trees in the Parkland pipes...

In Climate Change

Posted Wednesday 6th January 2010 at 03:15 by Francis Duggan
In climate change us humans will be the losers
Will humans live on Planet Earth in two hundred years from now?
Will birds and animals, fish and other life forms exist as we now know them?
Yet Nature herself will survive somehow.

In two hundred years from now what will the World look like?

A Beautiful Night In September

Posted Tuesday 5th January 2010 at 03:10 by Francis Duggan
The moon did appear from behind dark clouds
Only again for to steal out of sight
And boobook owl called in the Parkland
His voice echoing in the calm night.

Lovers arm in arm under the street lamps
They stop to embrace as they walk along
And the nesting magpies are fluting
They warble a beautiful song.

A beautiful night in September
And balmy the calm evening air
The Spring is Mother Nature's young Season

Out There

Posted Tuesday 5th January 2010 at 03:04 by Francis Duggan
Out there in the World of the wild and the free
The grey shrike thrush pipes on the black wattle tree
Though some other birds to look at than him seem more fair
There is so much beauty in his wildborn air,
Out there in Nature's World the white backed magpie sing
And the blackbird is whistling his song of the Spring
And in the Town Park the magpie lark pipes pee wee
His partner sits on her eggs in her nest of dried mud in a tree,
Out there in...
