What Are We Only Life Forms

Posted Friday 4th December 2009 at 23:40 by Francis Duggan
What are we only life forms when all is said and done
And that applies to you and I as well as to everyone
We have been born with a consciousness though Nature only lives forever more
Yet many believe in an afterlife beyond this Earthly shore
We were led to believe as children that God has an all seeing eye
And when people talk of their God they look up towards the sky
And in their vivid imaginings they swear God's face they see
Yet we only see what...

This Brown And Ancient Countryside

Posted Friday 4th December 2009 at 23:35 by Francis Duggan
The countryside around Keith is looking bare and brown
That stretches on to Padthaway and across to Bordertown
Most parts of South Australia at the wettest of times are dry
And there is not one rain cloud in the sunny Autumn sky.

Across the bare and dry countryside the drought has hit severe

Largs Bay

Posted Friday 4th December 2009 at 23:31 by Francis Duggan
The jetty from the foreshore goes for one hundred metres out to sea
In a place I'd love for to live in that's how 'twould seem to me
Largs Bay in South Australia a jewel by the sea shore
Within sight of Outer Harbour and the Town of Semaphore.

Everywhere you turn to look in Largs Bay coastal beauty meets the eye
From the wide beach looking seawards to where the ocean seems to meet the sky
The Largs beach is never overcrowded at any time of year...

Posted Thursday 3rd December 2009 at 22:16 by Francis Duggan
By my old home far north of here the babbling rill did flow
I was born close to Nature but of Nature little I do know
On the hedgerows of the old fields the birds welcomed the Spring
One can only look on Nature as a most amazing thing
The dark moorhen chicks from the reed bed to the river pool swim out
But their mum she calls to tell them if she sense danger about
And back into the reed bed they swim and from sight disappear
Though yet their little...

The Old Hills Of Sherbrooke

Posted Thursday 3rd December 2009 at 22:12 by Francis Duggan
The old hills of Sherbrooke of tall mountain ash trees
In fancy I hear the laughter of the kookaburra echoing in the breeze
Blowing through the high wooded country from here far away
But great memories of such beauty are with me today,
The call of the whipbird so whip like and clear,
The wild birds of Sherbrooke in fancy I do hear
The song of the lyrebird one born to imitate
The songs of his neighbours in song he celebrate,
For beauty with...
