Eye-piece upgrade. (1 Viewer)

My Name is Tony
my wife and I use an old "Mirador Merlin 75" spotting scope, it's a straight through model with a 22-47X zoom eyepiece. We have been advised that using a fixed wide angle eyepiece of about 22X will give more satisfactory results.

The eyepiece has a screw-thread fitting, of 33mm. "thereabouts" (I measured it with a ruler).
Do any of you good people out there, know if it will be possible to find a suitable eyepiece to fit, or if adaptors are available?
We are on a limited budget, and are not in a position to upgrade at present. We do manage with the scope, but an improvement would be nice! Any ideas anyone?
Thanks for now, Tony R.
