Late Fall In Victoria

Posted Friday 12th February 2010 at 08:38 by Francis Duggan
Late Fall in Victoria in the middle of May
But for the time of year 'tis a beautiful day
The sun shining warm in the clear blue sky
And birds chirp and sing in the parkland nearby
The weather temperatures perfect with a freshening breeze
That rustle in the leaves of the gum and wattle trees
In the sunlit park by the beautiful sea
A day for to live on in the memory
Children in the park playground children's games do play
Utopia from this...

Posted Friday 12th February 2010 at 08:35 by Francis Duggan
A magpie lark sung in the town park today
Peewee peewee peewee is all he did say
A familiar bird with a familiar song
Peewee are the notes that he pipe all day long
Familiar to many and familiar to me

Quite happy to live in the big city park
The dainty black and white Aussie the famed magpie lark
They sing all year round Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring
And their familiar...

I only quote here what the experts do say.

We abuse our Earth Mother who does serve us well

Miles Inland From Hibernia's Shore

Posted Friday 12th February 2010 at 08:28 by Francis Duggan
Miles inland from Hibernia's shore
By the roadway to Rathmore
I first saw the light of day
North of here and far away
From this Land by the Pacific sea
Of the gum and wattle tree
And the great gray kangaroo
And the bird known as weerloo
Often when I visualize
I can see the brown lark rise
And above the bracken as he fly
I hear him carolling in the sky
And here by the great Pacific sea
The memories remain with...

I Won't Be Going Back

Posted Thursday 11th February 2010 at 09:17 by Francis Duggan
I won't be going back to the old wooded hill
Where the magpie at dawn opens his silvery bill
And flutes his sweet music melodious and clear
The songster who sings every day of the year.

I won't be going back to that old country town
Where few cars or trucks night and day pass up and down
The wide and lonely streets that are quiet night and day
I won't be going back to the town far away.

The passing of time leaves me older and...
