Shearwaters were fishing two hundred meters from the coast. The number was surprising.
This was the end of the entries from my travel to Ebro Delta in December. But for a moment I will continue near of the sea, not in Mediterraneo but in winter windy Atlantic.

Knowledge and Expectation

Posted Tuesday 7th February 2017 at 19:41 by Green Sandpiper
We all make a big deal about our knowledge, or gen. Whether its about a particular species, or a particular area, 'gen' is one of our most valued commodities. But what happens when this knowledge turns the hope of a good day out into the expectation of a good day out? Is a little bit of knowledge a dangerous thing?

Take last weekend. Boss- chick had allowed me free rein on the saturday to have a full day out. I set my sights on Musselburgh and my first trip to SCotland's east...

Seville Trip Report

Posted Saturday 12th November 2011 at 01:06 by Alexjh1
Updated Saturday 12th November 2011 at 01:08 by Alexjh1
To begin I give my massive thanks to all the people who gave me advice on this forum for this trip - it really helped with what we finally did!

To make this more readable, birds are in bold, lifers in capitals.

Day 1: Seville
We caught the flight early, and by the time we arrived at our hotel, it was late morning, and so we decided to explore the city. I had seen a few birds distantly from the taxi over, but nothing really identifiable down to species level....
