We always attempt to pick the best time of year for getting the highest species total or the maximum number of endemic and special species, which is not necessarily when most species are in the area, but this also depends on climatic conditions for example. On some occasions it...

Madrid's Manzanares river runned through the western part of the city squeezed between the two directions of the ring highway M-30. The burial of the highway was conducted from 2004 to 2007. The birds however were fairly safe from people or dogs walled into the highway first, and the construction works later.
The recovery of the river as urban space were conducted in 2008-2011 when it was opened to the public. They were pleasant transformations for humans,...

This summer I went with my family to see wolves in Sierra de la Culebra. We were in the mountain two dawns and two sunsets to see them. We stood with scopes on a track on the hillside that overlooked the valley.

I went in the morning from Riumar to L'Encanysada lagoon, the largest in Ebro Delta. Some lapwings were in the rice paddies. Later some cattle egret were near of my car.
Dozens of herons were in another paddy, great white egrets, grey herons, little egrets and gulls.
One of the great white egrets and a cattle egret stood near me.
And I finally arrived to L'Encanyssada lagoon.
