temp removal of nest w eggs? (1 Viewer)

I need some advice, please! A bird has made their nest under the lid of my propane tank, and you guessed it we are due to have a refill of propane this week. There are about 4 or 5 small red spotted eggs in this wonderfully built nest. I would hate to destroy it! Could I move it out of the way for a few minutes while they fill up our propane tank, and then put it back in place when they are done? or would this damage the eggs? also is it true about handling a birds nest, that the mother will reject it?
