Central Park, Take One (1 Viewer)

On my first visit to Central Park this year I had some wonderful surprises and surprising misses. Some ordinarily patently obvious species, like Black-throated Blue Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, etc weren't apparent at all. Only one of three interesting warblers (Hooded, Cape May and Worm-eating) made an appearance again from earlier in the morning. Despite a 100% cloud cover and temps in the 50's, I wouldn't have missed the trip for anything.
Here follows my 34 new birds that I acquired for my BIGBY list today:

Chimney Swift 2
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 1
Eastern Kingbird 1
Blue-headed Vireo 3
Warbling Vireo 3
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 50

Wood Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 20
Cedar Waxwing 25
Blue-winged Warbler 3
Nashville Warbler 2
Northern Parula 12
Yellow Warbler 7
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 15
Black-throated Green Warbler 1
Prairie Warbler 1
Black-and-white Warbler 15
American Redstart 1
Ovenbird 3
Northern Waterthrush 2
Common Yellowthroat 3
Hooded Warbler 1
Eastern Towhee 10
Field Sparrow 2
Swamp Sparrow 3
Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1

Also of note were an amazing number of Chipping Sparrows - 70!
