Male Pileated Woodpecker (1 Viewer)

The male Pileated Woodpecker returned yesterday after a 48 hour absence. I have no idea of where he has been or when I will see him or his mate again. It is so strange that they came every day and then disappeared for 2 days. I am fairly new at this but I am very intrigued by their behavior. The little I do know is that I am very lucky to have them in our backyard eating from a tree 25 feet away from our window view!
