Most People Can Tell You

Posted Tuesday 15th June 2010 at 01:53 by Francis Duggan
Most people can tell you a cow from moose
Or a hen from a rooster or a duck from a goose
These are things of Nature everyone should know
But the more we learn of her the more our wonder grow
Of the ways of her workings her marvels not few
And everyday from her we learn something new
But her secrets from us she keeps hidden away
And is there one person in truth who could say
That of Nature he or she does know everything
Of her flora and...

The Sea Is At Ease

Posted Tuesday 15th June 2010 at 01:48 by Francis Duggan
The sea is at ease in the calm twilight gray
As the sun is going down o'er the western bay
At the end of what has been a near perfect day
So good to be living is all I can say.

The weather is good for mid April of the Fall
And with nothing of which to complain of at all

I've Loved Mother Nature

Posted Tuesday 15th June 2010 at 01:23 by Francis Duggan
I've loved Mother Nature since I was a boy
And learning about her is a thing I enjoy

And of her we learn something new every day
In Spring her wild birds sing on bush and on tree
And in her hosts of...

Though I Come From A Land

Posted Tuesday 15th June 2010 at 01:17 by Francis Duggan
Though I come from a land in the North Sea
Where I do live is always home to me
My life journey has me far south of my birthplace
Where nowadays mine might be a stranger's face
A stranger where my life's journey began
Where from a boy I grew into a man
Some twenty four years and Springs have gone by
Since I last heard the lark sing in an Irish sky
The past is now a fading memory
And time ticks on it did not wait for me
And though...

Kolor In April

Posted Saturday 12th June 2010 at 01:28 by Francis Duggan
Home to wallaby and gray roo and weerloo and the pale eyed crow
Between the volcanic rocks of Kolor thistles, scutch grass and bracken grow
Down the stony face of Kolor red hot lava it did flow
To the amazement of the First Australians thousands of centuries ago
They must have thought the Mountain God was angry as they watched in fear and awe
And that their World was ending so frightened at what they saw
That this was an act of Nature something they were...
