A Country Coastal Town

Posted Tuesday 4th May 2010 at 00:45 by Francis Duggan
A country coastal town near to the coastal city the main street lit by many a street light
The place is quiet not one person out walking though weatherwise it is a pleasant night
The country towns can be pleasant to live in and even on the weekends they are quiet
The pubs close early by ten o clock the streets deserted with only a stray cat or two in sight
Not really towns for young people's late night parties as the oldies to the police of the noise complain

The Wonderful World Of Nature

Posted Tuesday 4th May 2010 at 00:41 by Francis Duggan
From us Humans she hides her secrets though her beauty with all she does share
The Wonderful World of Nature with her there is none to compare
A walk in her parks and her woodlands is a thing that I truly enjoy
And I have loved the Mother of Nature ever since I was quite a young boy
Her beauty it lives all around me her birds sing on bushes and trees
The white butterflies in the parkland are dancing in the sunshine and breeze
From her comes the air, water...

In his territorial or courtship display
With his feet he kicks up a watery spray
Under his chin a fleshy pouch which he inflates at will
The musk duck at home where the waters are still.

His short spiky dark tail he can stiffen at ease
He lives as he choose and he does as he please
A dark gray freckled creature of the quiet waterway
His kind I see often though not every day.

By those who have handled them and of them can tell...

The Song Of The Lark

Posted Tuesday 4th May 2010 at 00:29 by Francis Duggan
On the slopes of the hill as dawn's lamp lights the sky
The little brown lark from the bracken does fly
A thing of great beauty so pleasant to hear
His distinctive carolling melodious and clear
A thing that I loved as a very young boy
As an ageing migrant I still do enjoy
In memory it does seem that time does stand still
A musical speck high above the brown hill
Up to the gray cloud World he sing as he flies
Such beauty so pleasant for...
