1st September - Surrey Hills

Posted Sunday 2nd September 2007 at 14:06 by paulwfromtheden
Beautiful day to take Jamie for an amble through the Surrey hills, from Westhumble station to Ranmore Common NT. Joined the North Downs Way and stepped through the Wine vinyards seeing lots of Linnets, Starlings and a lone Kestrel. Got to Ranmore Common and was very pleased to find LOADS of Marsh Tits with their peculiar call. Was even accosted by a Tawny Owl in the middle of the day with the loudest 'hooo' I've heard.

Welcome.

So, we now have blogs!

I think this is a great idea as it allows those of us who already have a blog (which is not exclusive to birding) to post bird only related items.

All I have to do now is remember to use it!

I've added catagories to the blog for each list I'll be trying to keep. List entries will start at the beggining of the 2008 calander year.

More catagories will be added in due course.

I will move what had been the '2007 Blackpool Blog' to here from now on.

Good day of birding today without anything exceptional. Great views of several freshwater waders (including Ruff) at Mythop and 24 Little Egrets in the roost at Freckleton Naze (though unfortunately no Great White...).
