Ospreys and Peregrines Mainly (1 Viewer)

One of my main interests is ospreys. Right now they are all flying south for thier winter holiday. A small number are being tracked by satellite. A young bird called Felix has just completed the most amazing journey from north east USA to Cuba. He flew 31 hours continuos. See http://www.bioweb.uncc.edu/bierregaard/Maps07Fall/Felix-070920.htm

For British ospreys there is a family being tracked. A mother and daughter are really moving south.

Tiger
Fasinating to read about the theory of inbuilt migration routes in the juveniles. I wonder if it works in the opposite direction as well. Especially for the females who I believe don't return to their birth areas. I say this because of the Bassentwaite osprey that has been found this year in Scandinavia.

P.S. Seems we have some things in common. My favourite bird is the Osprey and favourite animal the Tiger. Got a tattoo of a tiger on my right arm, yet to get the Osprey.

Hi Tiger, glad to see you started a blog here. Haven't been here in awhile, but decided to check it out after your post. Great idea for everyone to keep up to date on Frieda and Froda! :)
