1) Stripped down
These won't appear in the correct order, so I've numbered them. First just this reminder of what the male Mandarin Duck looked like in eclipse plumage, stripped down to his "underwear" with all his regal finery shed. This was on July 26.

Mmmm.... swithering here... but I do think the female edges him out as regards plumage, what think you Ann?

That's a great picture lass - excellent work.

Hope the newpapaper article works out right.
