1000 Yard Stare (Asio flammeus)

"They say you get it after you've been out in the field, like you're seeing beyond"
A little reference from the film Full Metal Jacket there. ;)

At everyone's request I've kicked over a few stones on my hard drive and unearthed more hidden gems. Didn't put any perched SE Owls on originally because Tom (tracker) put on a far superior one that made mine look rubbish. :-C
But I bet everyone's forgotten about his now so it's ok to put mine on :-O
Habitat
Scrub
Location
North Wales
Date taken

Scientific name
Asio flammeus
Equipment used
Canon 40D + 300mm F4 IS + 1.4xTC
Yes I did think that someones found Toms owl shot... Is this the same owl? I didnt check Toms pic but I remember the setting and pose would be very similar. This image is brilliant, Jaff! The fact that if Master Tom is around we usually get only the second price doesnt reduce its value. Love and adore this one!!

Cracking image Jaff, if you call this un rubbish, then I wish I had a hard drive full of your rubbish, its a beauty mate.

Some tight grip he has, wow, well done Adam, be happy with your own achievements, thats what counts !!! So much to be proud of too  :D

Many thanks to everyone. If you want to find Tom's just look in the competition winner's gallery. That should put things into context. ;)
