2) ... all of a sudden (Haliaeetus albicilla)

the ducks on shore dove for the water and started frantically quacking. I've learned now that bird noise down at surface level is cause to look up, so I managed to get a shot of this White-tailed Eagle (immature methinks - no white on the tail, but not the right shape of tail for Golden) flying by. I think he must have been using the river as a navigation device as he followed its course eastward, then southward, then disappeared from view around the bend of the hills.
