A close look at the Pileated (Dryocopus pileatus)

A greater crop. Photo taken at about 100 foot away at a height of about 100 foot. Fortunately it is a big bird, in fact, the largest woody in N. America.

Fantastic eastwood! Love these big guys. You have to really hunt to get a good view of one here.
