A garden first ...? (Fringilla montifringilla)

I don't think I've seen Bramblings in my garden before. I had one or two visiting early in the Fall, but not lately. They like to stay where there's plenty of dense cover, so now that the shrubs around my feeders are bare of leaves, my garden isn't so attractive for them. But they are beginning to frequent the far more foliage-lush area underneath the feeders at the botanical garden, now that the bird density is picking up at the feeders themselves ... and the dropped seeds are accumulating underneath ;)

Ooooh nice one Ann.... how lovely to know they've at last found your garden too!!

That's a great picture lass - well done.

The ones I see here are generally only even seen in stubble fields, especially where there's a wood bordering it, or at least some trees around.

A beautiful portrait of the Brambling, Doc We only have them passing through in the spring and autumn.

I barely remember seeing Bramblings when I lived in England. They are very attractive, tfs Ann for a lovely close-up.
