A lovely surprise

A lovely surprise (Spinus tristis)

Didn't have nearly the amount of Goldfinches that I normally have this past winter and they moved on last week. Well yesterday I looked out my window and I saw this beautiful male. I quietly slid the patio door open a wee bit and got this through the slot ;) Wasn't here today so he was just migrating through I guess.

He is a beauty, KC, and so well taken! I think I have my usual breeding bunch here now, but not sure yet.
