A lovely surprise

A lovely surprise (Spinus tristis)

Didn't have nearly the amount of Goldfinches that I normally have this past winter and they moved on last week. Well yesterday I looked out my window and I saw this beautiful male. I quietly slid the patio door open a wee bit and got this through the slot ;) Wasn't here today so he was just migrating through I guess.

What a wonderful surprise you got, beautiful catch, well done KC. That was what I was thinking that I had a young male American Redstart because of of the darker color. We have only seen this bird once in our woods, back in 2013. We got some service berries bushes out now, maybe the Redstart will come back. Have a great week, thanks for your help

Oh striking little one its funny the things we do not to scare them off lucky he stayed because you got a stunning photo thank you K C.
