A mega, mega, closeup (Cathartes aura)

I kind of like these guys especially when dozens are flying over my yard every afternoon heading for their roosting spot at the intracoastal waterway. This one surprised the hell out me when it landed on my fence. Must have been a dead squirrel/animal around.

Congratulations on capturing this huge bird as it is taking off, KC. Great focusing on its head.An excellent image. I wouldn't want that bird to fly close over my head !
