A Nice Surprise (Monticola saxatilis)

I was actually on my roof terrace looking for rain! It's kinda rare here on the Red Sea Coast of Egypt, and the clouds were looking hopeful.

I noticed a bird very still on the roof of the empty hotel next door, zoomed in with my camera and could see how colourful it was, and later found out it was a Common (uncommon for me) Rock Thrush.

Had it rained, the raindrops would have Sizzled when they reached him.
