A promise to myself: to Dancy-crawl

A promise to myself: to Dancy-crawl (Pluvialis apricaria)

I'm in a period of keeping promises and it is my own turn now. :-O But still more promises to come! :t:

I had promised to myself to do sometime a proper Dancy-crawling to snap a bird by my nose. The opportunity arrived in the shape of this Golden Plover. An experience unique, not only for being able to get some feather detail that I usually can't get, but for feeling the proximity of this little soul, its eye contact made me melt. o:)

Obviously, I dedicate this to the man himself: Mr. Adrian Dancy!!!

Wuaaaaaaaah!!!! Thanks a million for clicking and your mega-kind response to this pic, I'm chuffed!!! o:)

No mud at all, Rose, a nice fine clean sandy beach were to crawl until the border of the shells a bit more painful from there, Alan, Cora and KC, but was OK! :-O I ended up with sand to the ears, and feared for the gear, but it was a great experience, its stare had me bewitched!!!

Now I can't wait to the next migration season and try again with other waders!!!

Cheers!

Wow ! Brilliant, Marian    :t: ! Well worth the Dancy crawl ! Well done :t: !

Great shot--is that my eyesight or do most of those shells have clams in them--well, if my eyesight is correct that plover won't go hungry for a while :-O You have a nice clear capture in a really unique setting

An exceptionall image Marian, I know the feeling well of that brief moment of mutual trust between bird and person, something very special and difficult to describe to others, thanks.

WOW Marian - a FABULOUS shot - so close up and personal! Wonderful detail. Glad to see Adrian's technique working so very very well! :t::t::t: :t::t::t:
