A promise to myself: to Dancy-crawl

A promise to myself: to Dancy-crawl (Pluvialis apricaria)

I'm in a period of keeping promises and it is my own turn now. :-O But still more promises to come! :t:

I had promised to myself to do sometime a proper Dancy-crawling to snap a bird by my nose. The opportunity arrived in the shape of this Golden Plover. An experience unique, not only for being able to get some feather detail that I usually can't get, but for feeling the proximity of this little soul, its eye contact made me melt. o:)

Obviously, I dedicate this to the man himself: Mr. Adrian Dancy!!! :clap: :clap:

I didn't get to see it until now Marian and I'm sorry I missed it!.....fabulous......I don't know that I could promise to do the 'Adrian' crawl ....but I do the 'Rose' sidle..quite often!
Thanks for sharing!

Marian , I am gobless and speechless:eek!: not for the dedication , which is humbling but very nice o:), but for this cracking image:clap::clap::clap:, sharp and nicely posed. There are many out there who crawl or get low but it seems I just have a reputation for it.

Wicked and well done Marian!

Forgive my missing this one.:eek!::eek!::eek!:

Adrian

p.s. Merry Christmas snapping8-P

Thanks a lot Niall, Nora and Adrian for stopping here and your words!!! o:) It has been a long wait for me, Adrian! ;) Nothing to forgive, of course, and your acceptation makes the wait worthwhile!!! :t: Now I'm happy again! o:D

Cheers everybody!

Marian - this is amazing! The shells in the foreground, the bird and the background - a consummate setting. This goes to my favourites. I only get to see this bird in their breeding plumage... :t::clap::t:

beautiful shot Marian . very wel done. Best wishes of happy holidays also to you. :)

I'm catching up on images I've missed in your gallery Marian and here I find this! As one of the few privileged enough to have seen the famous Dancy Crawl in person I can say for sure you've got it spot on here.

A magnificent photo, better than any I've seen in magazines! :t:
Well done! :clap:
