A surprise
I was travelling on a narrow road up the hill at the back of town when two birds in flight grabbed my attention.

Sadly, by the time I'd safely pulled the car over and got out they were very much higher and I only ended with silhouettes.

I'd thought Hen Harriers (as they'd historically bred in the area before the windfarm!) but really wasn't too sure.

IDers on here thought more likely Marsh Harriers, which would be a first for me in the area.

Well, whichever they are, you got yourself a lovely aerial image of these soaring birds of prey girl.

congratulations on whichever delia on spotting these harriers...well done.....

Hen or Marsh, D, your
shot is a good illustration
of the expanse of
three-dimensional
space in which the birds
exist, so often lacking
in photographs.
Commendable.
