Adelie Penguin, Pygoscelis adeliae, Walking
Adelie Penguin, Pygoscelis adeliae, walking on the fast ice at Cape Adare, Ross Sea, Antarctica. This little penguin is on its way from the rookery across 2-3 kilometres of fast ice to get to the sea so it can bring back food for its chicks. The colony at Cape Adare is one of the biggest Adelie colonies in the Antarctica.

Aren't they adorable. He looks like he's waving goodbye to the chicks LOL. I had to look up 'fast ice' as I don't think I'd heard the term before.
