Nice shot of such an amazingly camouflaged animal, I can't imagine spotting it against a tree trunk.
 
From the thumbnail, I thought it was a wood carving...Great shot of an unusually patterned bird!!!

I would like you to belive my very keen super sharp senses picked it up but in actual fact but i would be lieing as I don't posses them.

Fact was the game wardens told us of its roosting site in one of the camps in Etosha.
 
Got my vote ! Game warden or no game warden I still can't figure how you found it. Outstanding photo ! Looks more like a tree than some trees I've seen.
