after frozen pond. (accipiter nisus)

returned home and my little sparrowhawk was waiting to greet me.he is here nearly every day but thought i would post this as he is not on his usual perch.not much info as he never stayed long just him and the magpie with their usual interactions.iso at 1600 and under exposed my back garden is very shaded but the bridge does better than my olympus in low light but that maybe me and not the cameras.

A wonderful resident to have and greet you ... We too have a couple of Shikra Hawks that come often to drink and bathe ... great birds these ...
Tfs , Margaret ...

Great expression and setting, Margaret (Fred is having a hard time lately, as the Squirrels have paired up. They won't let a Hawk stay around when they're breeding, so Fred has to deal with two Squirrels charging at him through the branches. He'll work it out though)

Such a lovely setting for this fabulous, detailed capture, Mags !!! Thanks for sharing.
Best Wishes.

LOL! Waiting by the bird bath and hoping the sparrows will think him just a garden gnome and come to bathe anyway ... ? Don't think that's going to work ;) And yet, he does seem pretty well fed, so he must be making enough catches somewhere.
A wonderful close-up shot!
