Afternoon Owl (Asio flammeus)

Three around yesterday afternoon. I spent nearly an hour trying to get closer to where two were hunting and chasing each other around but they just kept moving farther away. This one though had snuck up behind me. When I turned around to head back to the car there it was 20m away - amost straight into the sun. At least the backlighting nicely illuminated the wings.
