Super shot of a very pretty bird. When the hunting season starts in September this species is the number one target. I can't really complain about the hunting of game birds (tho I would like to) but if I see someone shooting at something they shouldn't I will go f***ing mental at them!!!

:bounce: Beautifully caught, Takis, nice to see the Chuckar posted, I've not seen one here in a while!!! :t: :t: :t: Makes a lovely avatar too! ;)

Thank you all for your kind comments. It was beginner's luck I guess as this is the very first bird captured by my 40d!
I love these birds, although they have given me hell hunting them. Late September the sun is merciless and there is very little shade and no water in the islands, so you have to carry at least 4 litters of water for the dogs and yourself. I'm always amazed by the passion of the dogs that keeps them going on the thorn-bush covered ground of the islands despite heat and thirst.
Stu you may call the hunting club of Kos, 22420-41291, and ask for the names and mobiles of their game wardens. In case you notice anything illegal do give them hell.
