Almost a blur!! Costa's Hummingbird (Calypte costae)

Just goes to show, you can get a decent hummingbird shot without a super fast shutter speed. This was shot at F5.6 1/800th ISO640

More than decent; not only did you capture great detail on the bird's body, but you were fortunate that the light was right to capture the iridescence of the head and gorget.
I am more often than not disappointed when I look at the final picture of my hummingbird shots-much more dull than I hoped for.
 
Awesome close-up of this brilliant little gem. Fabulous colors, lighting, focus, and detail. Exceptional Tom!!!
