American Coots (Fulica americana americana) fighting.

Today will be my last post for a few weeks. I will be back on line tonight but my wife and I are headed to Panama for a few weeks and we leave in the morning. It is not a birding trip per se but I can not go anywhere without birding and photographing (lol). Stay safe and keep those cameras clicking!
Cedar Park is situated in the Lampasas Cut Plain vegetation area. An ephemeral creek impoundment (ponds) bisected by Discovery Blvd, the ponds are surrounded by a wide concrete bike and walk path with pond margins lined with Baccharis sp., Solidago sp., King Ranch Bluestem (Bothriochloa ischaemum var. songarica), and large patches of soft-stemmed club-bulrush (Schenoplectus tabernaemontana: Cyperaceae). The club-bulrush being in the water’s edge. The elevation is 285 m (935 ft).

Wishing you and your wife a good trip to Panama and hopefully some birding too. Stay safe, JJ
Not a cage fight but the same action. Brillant action shot of these coots.
Have a pleasant time. I learned in the past that it is very useful sometimes to make a car reservation prior to arrival. For sure do you come back with hummingbird shots and more.

Excellent work my friend. Thanks so much for showing it to us.
