American Goldfinch

American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis)

Love this handsome fellow in his winter plumage. Many of our Goldfinches here are still looking a bit on the ragged side halfway through their seasonal moults. Was able to have some lovely yellow maple leaves to warm up the BG for him. Hope you enjoy.

I'm off to teach the next three days so I'll probably not have the time to post until Monday. 'See' you all then!

A superb capture. Very well detailed and a great pose and setting.

Great Shot--you caught him with a messy mouth!! lol I love the goldfinches--their colors are brilliant. We don't get to see them in their full breeding colors since we moved to NC.;)

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments! I really appreciate it!

The seminar is done and all the students are happy with their paintings. It was a lot of work but a good weekend. I'll be glad to get back to my camera tomorrow!
