American Goldfinch

American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis)

I had a lovely day outside with my garden birds today. We even had a bit of sun in the morning and early afternoon. Strange thing is I couldn't seem to get a decent shot in the full sun! I'm not used to dealing with it. LOL

The flock of American Goldfinches continues to grow and there were at leat 45 birds here today and probably more because I couldn't count the birds up in the trees around the garden because I was in the hide. They are eating me out of house and home! They ate nine pounds of hulled sunflower hearts in three days! Yikes! They are a bunch of little pigies!

This is a terrific shot of the Goldie Deanne. You and that camera have really struck up a relationship ;)

Well this un looks well fed, you are too kind to your birds Deanne, but you are reaping the rewards, another beautifully detailed image, great stuff young lady!!!!!!!!

An exceptionally fine image Deanne, they look a little like the UK Goldfinches, you can see the family likeness.A well lit and nicely composed image, thanks for sharing it.
