American Goldfinch

American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis)

So here's my first post for 2009. Today was very cold and windy and the birds were feeding almost non-stop all day. We had a large flock of these Goldfinches along with eight Pine Siskins and a few House Finches - Jays, Woodpeckers, Juncos, Sparrows etc. a busy, busy day. What a delight to have some sun to work with.

Anyway, Happy New Year to all my friends at Bird Forum! May your year be filled with beautiful birds and perfect captures!

Ouch! This one snuck by me and I don't know why. It's a brilliant capture of the Goldfinch and I love the perch you caught it on.
