American Kestrel (Falco sparverius)

There were loads of Kestrels at the Bosque. I even got some decent shots of one hovering, but later for those. This one was hanging on for dear life in some rather strong winds. Not a great shot technically, but I do rather treasure the moment of being so close to this lovely little raptor.
