American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla)

My favourite hiking trail on the Bruce Peninsula leads to a breathtaking lookout over Hope Bay. It's also a great place for American Redstarts, by far the most common warbler on the trail.
Location
Hope Bay, Ontario
Date taken
2008-07-20
Scientific name
Setophaga ruticilla
Equipment used
watercolour
Fantastic composition Jomo, the accuracy with the use of light is outstanding!! The delicate use of your fading technique has produced a superb ambient effect.......very well done.

The whole feel of the image invokes an air of freshness and I can almost smell the sweetness of the warm leaves and hear the gentle whistle of the breeze.....all melding together in a summery morning to produce an optical 'sonnet'. Marvelous!

as I said on your thread, this doesn't disappoint at all, the wait was well worth it - the bird is just full of energy, the leaves are.... how do you do it???? superb!!!!!
