American Tree Sparrow (Spizella arborea)

I was so pleased the other day to see this sparrow amongst a flock of Juncos and Titmice. I've only seen one of these birds one other time and this is the first photo I've been able to get. Unfortunately the pine needles in the foreground cover up the dark spot on the breast feathers and the background is too busy but I'm still happy to have gotten this one.

I hear what you say Deanne, and I was thinking like you until just recently. Now I don't think of "perfection" as being the cleanest shot, but the most natural. And sitting amongst the pine needles makes it more natural to me. The out of focus branch is no big deal as it does not obscure the bird, and is not worth the effort to remove it. But if we are searching for "perfection", not having the branch there would make the image a little better, as the bird is looking upwards. But how many images does any of us have, with that kind of perfection?? Merry Christmas Deanne!
