American White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos)

Hubbie and I walked out to a sandbar to see the pelicans. The only problem was that they preferred to just be lazy and not show off their beautiful wings. We got pretty close and they just continued to sleep. This one gave us a big yawn so we took the hint and decided to leave them alone.

Oh man Vicki! How often do we get to see the fully opened mouth of these guys? Hardly ever and this is spectacular girl!
